BEWISE™ Procedure - Breast Augmentation in Houston, TX
At the initial consultation, your goals and desires will be thoroughly discussed. Patients are encouraged to review and select sample photos which demonstrate the desired size and shape of the breasts. The final size and profile of the implant used will be perfected at the time of surgery by using a "sizer" or temporary implant. This is the best way to precisely determine the volume of implant that will give the patient a similar result to the sample photo selected.

Patients will be encouraged to stop smoking and stop taking any medications that would thin the blood or interfere with
the light general anesthesia required for the surgery. On the day of surgery, marks will be made high in the axilla in the
natural skin crease, in order to demonstrate the position of the concealed incision. This incision is usually less than one
inch and is usually barely noticeable after several weeks. Through this small incision, a pocket or space is created by using
the endoscope for visualization. This space, usually created underneath the pectoralis muscle will hold the final implant.
The endoscope is a magnified camera which allows for precise surgery to be performed through a very small opening. The final
implant is placed after careful determination of the size and profile. The incision is closed with absorbable sutures and
skin glue. Patients are seen in the office the following day and then 3 and 6 weeks following the procedure.
A comfortable
sport's bra is worn until it is comfortable to go without a bra at night and to wear a regular bra during the day. Patients
resume normal activities right away and recreational and gym work-outs in two to three weeks. A period of 3 to 6 weeks is
required in order for the tissues to relax and the implant to naturally drop in to its final position. Massage is not necessary
but may be encouraged to help this softening process.
